About the Award

The Best New Product Award is described as North America’s most credible consumer product innovation award. The Artie Chardonnay was one of three wine varieties to win a top prize in the food and beverage category, alongside ALDI’s Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir. The award is partnered with Newsweek magazine.

Background

The Artie wine line was developed as part of a three-year Private Label Wine Project led by Jonas De Maere, Wine Import Manager at Retail Business Services (the shared services organization of Ahold Delhaize USA). The project brought both imported and domestic private label wine to Hannaford, Food Lion, and other ADUSA banners, with the goal of offering consumers quality wine at competitive price points.

“Winning this award means the products we produce and sell are not only appreciated by our customers, but they also are an added value. The wine is a unique offering our customers can’t get anywhere else.”
